FAQ – General

How is the cost of a translation calculated?

Translations are charged based on the number of words in the source text. The cost of the final translation can therefore be established at the start. There are no unpleasant surprises or inaccurate calculations. Of course, we can also provide special rates on request.

How quickly can a translation be completed?

One of our greatest advantages is speed because express comes as standard for us. Small orders can be delivered on the same day. We can translate approx. 1500 words per day including proofreading.

What is the difference between translation and localisation?

The translation process extends beyond simply transposing the terminology of a text from one language into another. Each text contains a message which is transferred across into another language, taking account of the information context and cultural background. Localisation is closely linked with this concept. It is a process of adapting a product or service to the conditions and conventions of the country or place where the text will be used while also retaining the special features, codes and message of the original.

Do you also provide translations of official documents such as certificates, marriage documents etc.?

Yes. We translate official documents which must be completed by a sworn translator. We translate official documents in all languages and for all companies. There are different rules in place for certified translations in virtually every country and so we ask that you let us know the intended country of use for the translation when you submit your enquiry.

Will my documents be treated confidentially?

Your documents and all other texts will be handled in the strictest of confidence in accordance with the ethical guidelines for translation agencies. We would also gladly sign a non-disclosure agreement, on request.

Do you also accept small jobs?

Yes, of course. In the case of smaller orders (less than 150 words), we charge a minimum fee which varies between € 25.00 and € 50.00, depending on the language and specialist field. We do not charge a minimum fee for regular customers.

Which languages do you translate into?

Into all living (i.e. spoken) languages.

How can I become a freelance translator with Kitz Global?

Our employees are subject to very high standards to ensure that we offer the quality our customers expect of us.
We only work with professional full-time translators. We believe that a translator cannot produce competent and high quality translations into more than one language (mother tongue).
